When did realize you wanted to make a career out of illustrating?
When did realize you wanted to make a career out of illustrating?
In 2009 I was asked if I could do
cover artwork for one nu-metal band… And I thought to myself “Then, why not?”

What difficulties have you faced in transitioning into becoming a professional illustrator?
I can’t tell I had to face any special
difficulties during my career. Maybe sometimes there were some unthankful and
rude clients. Or frankly crazy, but I should say it’s more like an advantage).
It surely adds some fun).
It’s rather hard to point out
something peculiar here. I like the process on the whole.
I don't like to deal with stubborn
idiots, with people who don’t even try to understand you. It happens rarely,
but still it happens.

You recently attended the Illustration Master Class, can you tell us a little about the experience?
I haven’t been to the Master Class.
By Mosaeye Art&design How do you go about selecting your
subject matter for personal work? What do you tend to gravitate towards?
It depends on my mood. More often I
feel like leaning towards something dark, something hardly explainable. But of
course it’s somewhat different with my commercial works.
There are many of them: God Machine,
Dan Mumford, Beksinski, Vince Lock, Giger etc. I can’t give a complete list
here. They all impress me on the whole.
By Mosaeye Art&design What is the best advice you have
ever received regarding your artwork and career?
Keep on working. Don’t listen to
anyone).
By Mosaeye Art&design Do you have a philosophy behind your
work? If not, then what are some of your goals for the future?
I’m still thinking over it and can’t
give any certain answer. My goal for the future is to keep progressing as an
artist.
