Tell us about Quadrus?
Quadrus were formed on July of 2014 by our composer John Galanakis and Marios Konnaris, our lead guitarist. It is a cinematic progressive metal band that engages metal sound with choral and cinematic elements and began with the creation of the concept album “Entropia”.
After two years of composition and orchestrations , John contacted with Nikitas Mandolas ,who recorded the drums,
John Sotirakis who recorded the bass guitar ,Jon Soti who wrote the male vocals and then by February of 2016 I had already finished with John the lyrics of “Entropia”,the female vocals and choral recordings.

What are the lyrical themes of Quadrus?
Entropia narrates the story of mankind and the interminable circle of man’s mutual reliance with the universe. It raises questions to provoke the listener to interpret a deeper meaning of this, based on his own knowledge and perception!

What are your influences?
We are mainly influenced by bands ,such as Wintersun, Dream Theater, Symphony-X , Epica, Dragonland, Ensiferum, Nightwish, Two Steps from Hell and Hans Zimmer.

How did you choose the cover artwork?
It was more like an instant brainwave , rather than a choice. We wanted something that reveals the secrets of “Entropia” in just one picture!

How were the songs written?
At first John began with composition, and orchestrations then Marios with some guitar riffs and like I said before, two years later Nikitas recorded the drums for the whole album, then our dear singer Jon Soti recorded the male vocals and John Sotirakis wrote the bass guitar. Marios continued by adding some inspiring solos. On October of 2015 , me and John launched into a lyric preparation for “Entropia” and ultimately, I recorded , the choral and lead female vocals.

How did the recording process go?
Well, the recording process was an utterly exhausting experience due to the hours of our working jobs. But at the end of the day you are smiling like an idiot, because you are enjoying the harvest of all of your hard work!

What are your future plans?
We are not making any plans in order to achieve making some, if you know what I mean!

Are there any countries you’re interested in touring or performing in? Why?
Yes of course many of them but, it depends on the demand for musical performances. Never the less, we certainly would like to perform in the countries our music mentors played at.

What bands would you like to play alongside?
I believe we ‘ve already mentioned our music mentors, so that would be them.

Any last words?
Yes,I would like to close the interview with some lyrics from our last track of the album “Entropia”
We came through this journey with the astral light, guided through time and with fire’s insight
We’ll keep on our course till the end of our grace, we’ll shape our path to the map of our fate
We’re part of the Entropic universe, reflection of disorder
Where life’s ceased and evolution’s stagnant, each cell of genetic information is no longer in coma
