Interview with Negentropy, Melodic Death Metal Band from Turkey

Tell us about Negentropy?

Negentropy is a new band indeed. We are in the music industry just about 2 years. We don't have so many achievements but we just released our debut album and it goes fine so far. We are trying to do our best.

What are lyrical themes of Negentropy?

We are writing about corruption, death, society sometimes personel emotions but first of all, we want everyone to find something for themselves on lyrics.

What are your influences?

We, as Negentropy are big fans of Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth and many Melodic Death Metal bands like that. But after all, Metallica is the beginning for all of us.

Who are Your Favorite Turkish Metal Bands?

Well, actually metal music is not very common in Turkey. But bands like Pentagram and Pitch Black Process are best for this work in this country.

How did you choose the cover artwork for "Eternal Persecution"?

The artwork has drawn by our Label 3 Adım Müzik. We prefer you to think about what people that you see on the cover are representing.

How were the songs written?

Oktay had many riffs and melodies then we edited them and recorded demos. And finally we wrote the lyrics.

How did the recording process go?

Recording process was awful actually. We didn't have a budget and we were not so informed about recording. We recorded the songs like 10 times but at the end we took the records in our home studio and Göktuğ Şenkal Mixed and Mastered them.

What are your future plans?

We want to be heard in the short term globally. We are chasing for local festivals right now but we are planning to take the stage on different countries too. Also We almost finished with the album already. It will not take too long, just wait for it.

Are there any countries you’re interested in touring or performing in? Why?

We always wanted to perform in Scandinavia. Because that's where Metal Music actually goes on. Except that, we are well received in Russia. So that's where we will probably go as soon as possible.

What bands would you like to play alongside?

We admire so many bands but playing alongside the Metallica, It couldn't be more amazing.

Any last words?

That was our first international interview and It's so beautiful to see that people care about what you are doing and we hope more people to listen metal music in Turkey, thus we can share these nice moments all together.
